Consular Processing

When a beneficiary is outside the United States, they must obtain an immigrant visa through consular processing at a U.S. embassy or consulate. SSF Law Firm guides clients through every step of this process.

The Consular Processing Pathway

After an immigrant visa petition (I-130 or I-140) is approved, the case is transferred to the National Visa Center (NVC) for processing. The NVC collects fees, civil documents, and the immigrant visa application (DS-260) before scheduling a visa interview at the appropriate U.S. embassy or consulate.

Preparing for the Visa Interview

The consular interview is a critical step in the process. Our attorneys prepare clients thoroughly for their interviews, reviewing all documents, anticipating potential issues, and advising on how to present their case effectively. We also assist with medical examinations and police certificate requirements.
